Please take a moment to read the aftercare advice below. It is important that you become fully aware and understand what should be done by yourself both before and after a treatment in the interests of your personal health, safety and wellbeing.
Aftercare – Facials
Do not undertake any other facial skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a facial
Do not apply perfume or perfumed products to treated areas within 48 hours of having a facial
Stay away from direct sunlight/sun beds and heat eg. Saunas for 48 hours after having a facial
Do not apply any other exfoliating skincare products for 72 hours after having a facial
Keep make up and other skincare products to a minimum for 24 hours after having a facial
For long term results, use the prescribed products for home care and book in for treatments monthly.
Always use a SPF during daylight hours. Do not use a product with SPF when going to bed.
Aftercare – Lash/Brow Tinting or Lash Perm/Treatment
Patch test essential 24 hours before these treatments
Avoid rubbing the eyes
Avoid heat treatments for 24 hours following treatment
Avoid sunbathing for 24 hours as this fades the tint
Avoid wearing contact lenses on the day of your lash treatment
Although we endeavour to make sure every trace of tint dye is removed, it is possible that residue will remain, this can be wiped away with a damp cotton pad
Do not apply make up or have any other eye treatments for 24 hours after your treatment
Aftercare – Waxing
To get the best possible results from your waxing treatment, please follow the guidelines below:
Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, especially if this is your first wax. These symptoms usually subside over 24-48 hours following your treatment, but please get in touch if your experience any persistent redness or irritation.
You should keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours.
This means no hot baths or showers (cool to luke warm is fine), no saunas or hot tubs, no tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans).
No sport, no gym, or other vigorous exercise. No swimming in chlorinated pools.
Avoid scratching or touching the treated area.
Do not apply any deodorant, body sprays, perfume, make up or lotions to the waxed area other than those products recommended by your therapist.
Wear clean, loose fitting clothes.
You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so, it can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle which provides best results.
Please do not tweeze, shave or use hair removal creams between appointments.
To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks.
Do not undertake any other skincare treatments within 48 hours of having a waxing treatment.
After 48 hours, it is vital that you use a good quality moisturiser.
For ingrown hairs, use an exfoliator or ingrown hair serum.
Ask your therapist about products available to support your waxing treatments.
Aftercare – Manicure, Pedicures and Nail Extensions
Leave adequate time after your treatment to allow your nails to dry before leaving the salon.
For pedicures, wear open toe shoes when possible.
To prolong the life of your polish, wear gloves to undertake any household chores.
Use pads of your fingers instead of your nails.
Apply hand moisturiser regularly.
Massage the cuticle with conditioning treatment regularly.
Use non-acetone varnish remover.
Salon infills are required every 2-3 weeks.
It is advisable to return to a nail therapist for removal of nail product.
Use a nail file to gently smooth any chips.
Aftercare – Body Treatments
Avoid alcohol and heavy meals for 24 hours after treatment.
Always drink plenty of water after treatment.
Do not undertake any other body treatment for 48 hours after treatment.
Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds and heat – eg. Saunas for 48 hours after treatment
Keep skincare products to a minimum for 24 hours after treatment
Stay relaxed and keep warm for 12 hours after treatment
For long term results, book in for regular treatments and use the home care products prescribed as well as a SPF during daylight hours.
Wraps – please do not drink tea, coffee, alcohol or fizzy drinks for 48 hours following a wrap. Avoid bathing or showering on the day of your treatment (additional tightening and inch loss occurs for up to 12 hours following treatment). Please support your body wrap with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Aftercare – Spray Tan
Ensure if you intend to shave, make sure to do this a few hours before the spray tan is applied.
Dont shower just before your spray tan. This may mean your pores are open and the tanners clog them. Ideally leave a few hours between showering and coming to your appointment.
Use an exfoliating scrub or loofa your skin a few hours prior to tanning. Pay particular attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees and backs of heels.
Dont use oil based moisturisers on the day of your spray tan. The residue can make it difficult for the spray to absorb into the body. This may lead to the guide colour appearing streaky. However with Skinny Tan even if the guide colour is streaky, the tan that is developing underneath will still be perfect.
Wear loose fitting clothes to attend your appointment, as you dont want to rub the solution off before it has had the chance to develop.
Allow as long as possible for the tan to develop before showering off the guide colour. Skinny Tan products cannot over develop so ideally leave them on over-night. If any guide colour comes off on your bedding, this is just like make up and will come out in the washing machine.
Have a light shower the following day and admire your natural tan.
It is really important to keep the skin hydrated so drink lots of water and use lots of moisturiser to prolong your tan.
